Legislate for Change
Our Legislate pillar advances federal and state legislation to address maternal mortality, morbidity, and disparities. We support the Momnibus, Kira Johnson Act, Dads Matter Act, and state-level replication.
Legislation drives systemic change. We champion the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act (13 bills), H.R.1212 Kira Johnson Act, the bipartisan Dads Matter Act, and Georgia-level Momnibus and Dads Matter initiatives. We partner with peer organizations to promote paid parental leave and childcare legislation.

Momnibus Support & Kira Johnson Act
The Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act consists of 13 bills addressing maternal mortality, morbidity, and disparities. H.R.1212 Kira Johnson Act establishes grants for community-based programs, provider training on racism/bias, and respectful maternity care compliance.
